Q: Do we allow visitors? A: After alot of thought and consideration for the health and safety of our dogs/puppies we have set new guidelines/safety measures when visiting our home.
We do allow visits only by scheduled appointments to the intent of leaving a deposit or picking up a puppy.
Prior to visit please do not visit any dog parks, groomers, veterinary office, rescues, boarding facilities, breeders or pet stores/shops.
If you have a pet at home that is sick or showing signs of any illness to please let us know.
Do not bring any pets with you.
We ask you limit 2-3 visitors that live in the same household during your appointment. We do understand some households have children and we will accommodate your little ones.
Please wear clean clothing and shoes.
Q: What genetic testing do you do? A: We test for SOD1A, SOD1B and Von Willabrand. We make sure all of our breeding dogs are tested and paired for quality breeding. If any of our breeding dogs have these genetics, we are up front and honest about that before any purchase.
Q: Do you require a deposit? A: Our deposit is non-refundable $500 if you would like to hold a puppy. That also goes towards your final puppy price. We ask for a deposit because we have a high demand for our puppies and this allows us to guarantee your spot on the waiting list or that specific puppy you’re requesting. Remember we go by our waitlist first, occasionally we do have open availability.
Q: What is the process of getting a puppy? A: First, please complete our online application. We will then contact you and go over any additional questions you or I have. Once confirmed that we are the perfect match, we will request your deposit to add you to our waitlist or puppy available. I will always keep you in the loop of pregnancies, DOB, and your time to pick. I also encourage a in person visit during pick to make sure you pick the perfect baby. We will also video chat if distance is a problem. We start pick at 7 weeks of age. You will also be updated with photos and videos Weekly/Bi-weekly of the puppy(s). Q:How many times do we breed our females? A: Three-Four conceived breedings per female.
Q: How does our waitlist work? A: The list goes by the date the deposit was made to hold your spot for pick. Remember breeder reserves the right of the first-third pick. If you fail to respond within a 48 hour period to schedule a visit we will move down the list to the next family.
Q: When do I get to pick my puppy and how does it work? A: When it is time for pick we will reach out two-three weeks in advance to you via email or phone listed on your puppy application and you have 48 hours to get back to us! If you do not respond we will move onto the next family assuming you are not interested in the litter offered. If you have committed to a litter and decide to back-out; it must be done before puppies are 4 weeks of age in order to transfer to a future litter; Your reservation fee will be held for 2 years unless noted that you have decided to go a different path. After the 2 years we will assume your are no longer interested in getting a puppy.
Q: When do the puppies start potty training? A: We start with disposable pee pads as young as two weeks of age, than we slowing introduce the potty box with a raised grate and a scoop of pine pellets at the bottom. The smell of the pellets introduce them to the scent of the outdoors.
Q: When do the puppies start weaning and what do we feed? A: Puppies start mush at 4 weeks of age, we Diamond Naturals Large Puppy Breed Lamb and Rice. We blend up the kibble with warm water/formula and slowly thicken the food to kibble only. I also add one can of soft once a day Blue Buffalo Wilderness Adult High-Protein Grain Free Beef and Chicken Grill.
Q: How often do I feed the puppies after being weaned? A: Puppies are fed two-five times a day and slowly tapered off to a normal feeding schedule to three times a day. If we are outside enjoying the land they get extra feedings to make sure everyone is happy and healthy.
Q: Where is all of this bundle of joy housed? A: In our home, they run the house and they know it. They keep us on our toes that's for sure.
Q: Do we train the puppies with Sound Desensitization? A: Yes, we use a soundtrack called “Calm Pet” Volume 1 and expose the puppies to different noises such as Fireworks, Thunderstorms, Car Engine, Doorbell, Cat Sounds, Door Knocking, sirens and crying baby sounds.
Q: Are the puppies exposed to different floor textures, stairs, doggy doors, toys and kids? A: Yes, the puppies are exposed to carpet, tile, hardwood and laminate. Our kids love and spoil each puppy they love running the yard with all of them. We teach them to go up and down basic steps. Toys are introduced as little as 3 weeks old.
Q: Are the puppies dewormed and vet checked? A: Yes, puppies start their deworming at two weeks of age and every two weeks. Puppies will still need to be dewormed until they’re 12 weeks of age and then monthly up until 6 months of age. Puppies are all evaluated and vaccinated by a Licensed Veterinarian.
