Being a Guardian Family is a wonderful way to have a top-quality dog as a family companion while supporting our breeding program. These dogs are forever family pets, loved and cared for in a home environment, while we retain breeding rights.
We believe every dog deserves a loving, forever family. Unlike kennel-raised dogs, dogs in our Guardian Home program get socialization, attention, and a real family life, which helps them become well-balanced, happy companions. This program benefits everyone—the dog, the family, and our breeding program.
How It Works
Guardian Families must:
We are excited to share that we will have two sweet females joining our Guardian Home program in Spring 2026!
If your family meets the requirements and your heart feels a connection, this could be your chance to share a lifetime of love with a truly special dog.

How It Works
- Puppies are whelped at our home; mama stays with us until pups are weaned.
- Females may remain in the program up to 5 years (no more than 4 litters), males up to 9 years.
- We cover all breeding-related expenses.
- At the end of their program, dogs are spayed/neutered, and AKC papers are released to you.
- Your dog is your family pet—cuddles, adventures, and everyday life are theirs to enjoy!
Guardian Families must:
- Feed an approved food, agreed upon by breeder and guardian.
- Provide regular veterinary care (no elective vet visits or medications without breeder approval, except wellness exams and vaccines).
- Give Heartgard for heartworm prevention only—no oral flea and tick medications.
- Provide proper exercise and training (avoid excessive exercise or jumping to protect joint health), including crate training and breed-specific grooming.
- Ensure puppies are well-socialized.
- Notify breeder immediately at first sign of heat so cycles can be tracked.
- Females are not bred until 2 years old and fully genetic/health tested.
- Location: Within 2 hours of Montrose, MI for females; within 30 minutes for males.
- Housing: No apartments; must have a fully fenced yard or underground fence.
- Families must provide love, care, socialization, veterinary care, exercise, training, and agreed-upon nutrition.
